TikTokers filmed antisemitic social media videos ‘to spread hatred’ | UK | News

Two men were found guilty of a religiously aggravated public order offense over allegations they traveled to a predominantly Jewish area to film anti-Semitic social media videos for TikTok. The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to reports of a hate crime in Clapton Common, north London, at around 9pm on Thursday, where a group of men were allegedly harassing members of the Jewish community.
Police said officers arrested five people following the incident in Hackney. Adam Bedoui, 20, and Abdelkader Amir Bousloub, 21, will appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Saturday over allegations they approached, harassed and filmed Jews in Stamford Hill, the CPS said.
Bedoui and Bousloub, both of West Drayton, Hillingdon, west London, pleaded guilty to a religiously aggravated public order offense at Thames Magistrates’ Court on May 9.
Police were called to the scene at around 21:00 on Thursday, May 7. Both suspects tried to escape but were caught at the scene.
Detective Constable Oliver Richter, who leads policing in Hackney and Tower Hamlets, said: “This was a deliberate and targeted anti-Semitic attack and was aggravated by the duo’s intention to share the incident on social media to spread hatred. This is completely unacceptable and has no place in London.”
“Our officers acted quickly to arrest those responsible and within 48 hours they were brought to trial and sentenced. This should send a clear message: we will act decisively against anyone who commits a hate crime.”
“We know that incidents like this harm communities and we will continue to treat all reports with the utmost seriousness.”
Bedevi and Bousloub will appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Friday, June 5 for their sentencing.
