Tips and previews for racing at Kensington on Wednesday

Selections based on a heavy piece
race 1
Where 3. Consulate Being able to get through the outside barrier is vital to his chances, but he has more than enough first place to say victory at Canterbury is not too far off. He was injured too late to grab second place and can only be improved. 1. Adeleke A well-bred filly from the 1st group winners, whose trials were completed twice in June. If gate one is an advantage, he could be competitive in his debut. 6. The Lonely Piper He was running amok in the betting on his debut in the same race as the Consulate. A turnaround at the barriers could bring him closer to the run and lead to recovery.
How to play: Consulate to win.
Race 2
6.Claudel He has a wide hurdle to contend with but an inside hurdle didn’t help him much when he finished second as the favorite at Canterbury a fortnight ago. He is so versatile as he progressed quickly in his debut, any tactical changes should be monitored. 3.Pharland He blinked after a promising first game at Gosford in which he experienced a difficult uptick. The winner started in a betting race on the market last weekend. 5. Fast Income He is an interesting starter who has had two good tries. Support will be important.
How to play: Claudel wins.
Race 3
4.Barray He was on the market for two comebacks and performed well without posing a late threat. Going out on a heavy track is interesting and goes up to his preferred distance range. Good chance to achieve this. 3. Basketball Court There were four weeks between runs and he had a lead in scoring from that distance at Canterbury and a similar lead in that regard. It’s hard to escape. 6. Real Baker this time he led all three races and performed very well in a 1400 meter race on this track three weeks ago. Must be able to go above and beyond speed and emerge.
How to play: Barbray in any case.
Race 4
5. Towards here He ran a promising race at Canterbury, making two starts on heavy ground and, when good in the market, loosened Randwick’s tongue. One plus of the shift is that he has run well here before and loves the wet ground. 6. John Dory He was expected to return to his previous efforts as he had the same gear change following the failure at Rosehill, which was eminently useful on wet tracks. 8. Tender usually pacey but from a wide wicket found himself at the back of Midway at Randwick. His previous self was honest and he has a chance either way.
How to play: Here to win.
race 5
2. Conchiero He had to chase outside the leader going into the third game at Canterbury two weeks ago. Fitter’s last win was on a wet track this outing in March and he looks likely to get up to speed. 10. Copy It doesn’t win by turns but it is rarely far away and performs well in the wet. The ever-important blinkers continue in the barn and should not be ignored. 3. Iceman He races well and came back a step back in class after a couple of even-par efforts in the BM78 company on Saturday. He’s not bad at claiming and I’m sure he’ll perform well again.
How to play: Conchiero wins.
race 6
2. Tranquility He showed a return to form at this track a few weeks ago with a closing second behind the progressive Jarrito over 1000 metres. One of his best runs was on a heavy track and although he has yet to attempt this ride he is bringing his best form to the race. 11. Pazyryk It’s his first win but he puts in a strong performance at Gosford, making good ground and closing the gap before pulling away. He gets confidence from this, he can sigh and take measure. 10. Mind Ya Bizz Another early winner at the last start on a difficult track at Gosford. Still, to avoid doing something wrong, it’s worth including.
How to play: Stay calm to win.
race 7
1. Huon He has a strong debut record at this track and can be expected to make his presence felt as he does well in the wet. We are closing the third one before taking a break in January, we are ready for a few tries and trying to grab every chance. 9. Dear Jewel He qualified by running strongly on a difficult track at Randwick three starts ago and was close to that in the next two starts. He keeps his shape well and looks dangerous. 6. Massira He could be a big improvement after nearly going around the outside fence behind Ice Kool at Randwick last time. He falls down in class so he can do better.
How to play: Huon wins.
Best Bets: Race 5 (2) Conchiero; Race 7 (1) Huon.
Best value: Race 3 (4) Barbray
