The base commander said that an army sergeant using a personal pistol opened fire on Wednesday at his unit at the Fort Stewart-Hunter Ordu Airport in Georgia. Five soldiers were wounded in the attack and when the soldiers fought the armed man, they ended.

The main commander John W. Lubas said that none of the injuries threatened at a press conference. The minister said the victims would not be explained to the public until they were contacted with their families. “Everyone is expected to heal,” he said.

Army officials described the suspect in custody as sergeant Quornelius Radford, the 28, 28 of the automatic logistics sergeant assigned to the 2nd brigade war team. They said they were not sure of their motivation or how they hide the weapon they used.

Approximately 8800 people live in Fort Stewart, about 40 miles southwest of Savannah.

The Army Criminal Investigation Department was leading the investigation of fire. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that President Donald Trump was informed and FBI’s Savannah office helped the investigation.
