Trump humiliated as giant Epstein birthday card appears near White House | US | News

A 3-meter copy of the obscene message that Donald Trump is said to have written to Jeffrey Epstein appeared on the National Mall in Washington DC. The installation, which coincided with the disgraced financier’s 73rd birthday on January 20, featured a drawing of a female torso and what appeared to be the US President’s signature. The copy, based on a birthday note bearing Mr. Trump’s name and released last year among a batch of documents in Epstein’s possession, ended with the cryptic sentence: “Happy Birthday – and every day can be another wonderful secret.”
The other side of the card read “‘Happy Birthday to a Great Man!'” and was accompanied by a plaque encouraging passersby to add their names alongside a message to the Trump administration. The exhibition, which features similar sculptures including one of the US President holding hands with Epstein, was installed by The Secret Handshake, an anonymous group of artists.
Mr. Trump has repeatedly denied sending the birthday message, with representatives insisting that he “did not draw this picture nor did he sign it.”
White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson also criticized the latest exhibition in a statement on Tuesday.
“I congratulate Trump’s Deranged Liberals for constantly inventing new ways to set fire to Democratic donors’ money by spreading fake news,” he said.
According to The Secret Handshake, the statue, which received permission from the National Park Service, has permission to remain in place until Friday, January 23.
While Mr. Trump has made headlines for a number of other reasons in recent weeks, Democrats have continued to push for the release of all the alleged Epstein files after the Justice Department failed to meet a Dec. 19 deadline.
Officials said earlier this month that 12,285 files have been released so far, with more than 2 million still under review.
The US leader was among the famous faces, alongside Bill Clinton and Lord Mandelson, who appeared in thousands of photos posted online in December.
Mr. Trump has not been charged with any civil offenses connected to Epstein, who was found dead in his cell at a federal prison in New York in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. His death was ruled a suicide.
