Trump launches furious tirade at major news anchor: ‘I’m not a rapist’ | US | News

Donald Trump launched a furious attack on CBS anchor Norah O’Donnell, who read lines from the suspected gunman’s manifesto during a 60 Minutes interview about the White House Correspondents’ Dinner attack.

Trump condemned O’Donnell’s line of questioning, consistent with his longstanding attacks on the press, which he has repeatedly described as a “disgrace.” Trump was enraged when Cole read a document allegedly sent by Tomas Allen minutes before the attack, in which Allen referred to a “pedophile, rapist and traitor.”

“I was waiting for you to read this because I knew you would because… you are terrible people. Horrible people. Yes, he wrote this. I am not a rapist. I have not raped anyone. I am not a pedophile. Excuse me. Excuse me. I am not a pedophile. Did you read this nonsense from a sick person? I was associated with it all – things that had nothing to do with me. I am completely exonerated.”

“Your friends on the other side of the table, say the ones who were involved with Epstein or other things. But I said to myself, ‘You know, I’m going to do this interview and they’re probably going to read the… manifesto.’ But you should be ashamed of yourself when you read this because I’m neither of those things.”

What did the manifesto say?

Allen described his targets as “administrative officials: prioritized from highest rank to lowest”; but it appears he removed FBI Director Kash Patel from his list.

Apparently referring to Trump, Allen wrote: “I will no longer allow a pedophile, rapist and traitor to cover my hands with his crimes.”

Authorities also found anti-Trump and anti-Christian rhetoric on Allen’s social media accounts. In the statement, which was reportedly shared with authorities by his brother, Allen allegedly wrote: “Turning the other cheek is for times when you, too, are under pressure. I am not a person who was raped in an internment camp. I am not a fisherman executed without trial. I am not a blown-up schoolboy, a starved child, or a young girl abused by the many criminals in this administration. Turning the other cheek when someone else is under pressure is not Christian behavior; it is complicity.” the crimes of the oppressor.”

How did Melania react?

Trump said the first lady was visibly shaken by the shooting. Asked if he was scared, he said: “I don’t want to say it, and people don’t like to be told they’re scared. But definitely, I mean, who wouldn’t be scared when you’re faced with a situation like that?”

“By then, I think he realized early on that it was more of a bullet than a tray. And he… I looked at his face shortly before he came. I saw the scene. They played it for me, and it’s a pretty good close-up. And he looked very upset about what had just happened, you know? Why not?”

Trump added that Melania handled the situation forcefully and calmly. “He handled it great. I mean, he was, he was very strong, he was smart. He understood. He knew what it was. He listened. That’s what I did, by the way.”
