White House denies report Trump is ‘considering’ commuting Diddy’s prison sentence

The White House has slammed a report that said Donald Trump could release Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs from prison as soon as this week.
55-year-old Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison Open two transportation charges for prostitution purposes.
‘Someone from the White House’ told TMZ It is stated that Trump is ‘undecided’ about whether to follow former Congressman George Santos’s change of position over the weekend with Combs.
While White House staff advised against the move, the source ultimately said: ‘Trump will do what he wants.’
When reached for comment, a White House spokesperson told the Daily Mail that the report was completely fake.
‘There is no truth to the TMZ report; If they had contacted us before publishing their fake news, we would have been happy to disclose it.’
‘The final decision on pardons and commutations is the president, not anonymous sources.’
Combs, who avoided a longer sentence when he was acquitted of more serious sex trafficking and racketeering charges, could be released at some point this week.

Trump has previously said he probably won’t pardon him, but added that Combs’ acquittal on multiple sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges means he is “essentially, sort of semi-innocent.”
Speaking to Newsmax in August, Trump said it was “more likely to be a no” after all, but noted the interesting situation the rapper finds himself in.
‘Actually he was kind of semi-innocent. I don’t know what they are still doing in prison or something. “He was celebrating the victory, but I guess it wasn’t that good of a victory,” he said.
The president then detailed his past relationship with Combs; because they were both native New Yorkers who became famous.
‘I was very friendly with him, I got on very well, I seemed like a nice guy, I didn’t know him very well,’ he said.
In May, Trump said he would consider it, telling the press: ‘I would see what was going on… He really loved me.’
This began to change when Trump turned to politics. While Combs was largely agnostic on the 2016 race, he supported Joe Biden in 2020 and said there would be a race war if Trump won.
The news came on the same day that Combs’ lawyers signaled they planned to appeal the conviction.

The president talked about his past relationship with Combs because they were both New Yorkers and famous.
The rapper and mogul was deemed to have served 13 months of his sentence.
But in a two-page statement filed in New York Federal District Court by her lawyer, Alexandra Shapiro, Shapiro signaled plans to appeal but did not specify the legal reasoning behind the appeal, according to documents obtained by the Daily Mail.
However, in previous filings, the rapper’s legal team argued that his conviction should not stand because the two prostitution charges were allegedly remnants of the now rarely used Mann Act.
More detailed submissions setting out the reasoning behind Diddy’s objection are expected to be submitted in the coming weeks.
Diddy’s appeal was to be heard first by a three-judge panel from the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
Diddy was still listed as incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center as of Monday afternoon, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Federal prison counsel Sam Mangel told the Daily Mail that defendants typically wait 45 to 60 days to be transferred to federal prison to begin their sentences.
However, Mangel said Diddy may have a longer-than-usual wait at the Brooklyn MDC due to the federal shutdown.
Trump announced George Santos would be released late last week
Trump and Combs are seen together in 1998. The two native New Yorkers met at the height of Combs’ fame.
On October 3, Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced Diddy to 50 months in prison following his conviction on two prostitution charges, but he was remembered for the year he spent in prison at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center before and during his trial.
His legal team had argued for a much lighter sentence of just 14 months in prison.
Subtracting the 12 months he spent in prison from the total, Diddy would have served only two more months under his preferred sentencing terms.
In return, the prosecutor requested a prison sentence of at least 11 years and 3 months.
Following his highly anticipated trial and the end of his sentence, his legal team requested that he serve his sentence at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security prison in Fort Dix, New Jersey, the Daily Mail confirmed.
Subramanian condemned Combs for his “savage” harassment of his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura and Jane Doe, who testified that he made an example of him for causing “irreparable harm” to his victims.
Ventura’s attorney, Douglar Wigdor, told the Daily Mail that the entire lawsuit happened thanks to the singer’s “courage to file a civil complaint in November 2023,” which triggered the criminal investigation into Combs.
‘While the jury did not find Combs guilty beyond a reasonable doubt of sex trafficking Cassie, he paved the way for that jury to find her guilty of transporting her for prostitution,’ he said.
Cassie stood out with her experience and left an indelible mark on both the entertainment industry and the fight for justice. We must reiterate – without hesitation – that we believe and support our client, who has demonstrated exemplary courage throughout this case.
‘He demonstrated indisputable strength and drew attention to the realities of the powerful men in our orbit and the abuses that have continued for decades without repercussion.
‘This case proves that change is long overdue and we will continue to fight on behalf of survivors.’
Diddy wasn’t actually found guilty of any crimes against Ventura, but he was famously filmed beating him, and his admission of his abuse would likely provide the model with some solace.
