Trump REJECTS Iran’s latest peace proposal with ominous joke that Pete Hegseth ‘loves war’: ‘We are not satisfied’

President Donald Trump issued a chilling warning to Iran at today’s high-stakes Cabinet meeting; While rejecting Tehran’s latest diplomatic overtures, he boldly claimed that the Islamic Republic’s army had already been completely disbanded.
Speaking to reporters and officials at the cabinet meeting, Trump made clear that Iran was desperate to come to the table but that the United States held all the cards and would not accept a subpar deal.
“Iran is very intentional, they very much want to make a deal,” Trump told the room. ‘So far they haven’t been able to get there. We’re not happy about it, but we will be later. ‘It’s either that, or we’ll have to finish the job.’
In a characteristically sweeping assessment of the geopolitical landscape, the President claimed that Iran’s armed forces had been completely neutralized by American military might.
“But as I’ve said 1,000 times, the Navy is gone,” Trump said. ‘The Navy is gone, the Air Force is gone, everything is gone and they’re negotiating on smoke. But we’ll see what happens. Maybe we need to go back and finish it. Maybe we’re not doing that right now.’
Trump noted that his top envoys, including Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, were actively working on the situation, but emphasized that Tehran had no leverage left.
The tense atmosphere in the room briefly dissolved into awkward amusement as the President turned his attention to newly appointed Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
Trump pointed to Hegseth and said humorously: ‘Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. Central casting. ‘He loves war.’

As laughter rippled through the Cabinet room, Hegseth responded to the ominous joke with a nervous smile and a shrug.
Turning to the economic devastation facing America’s enemy, Trump claimed that Tehran’s leadership had completely miscalculated its political staying power, thinking they could outlast him in the upcoming midterm elections; mocked this strategy.
It painted a bleak picture of the complete collapse of Iran’s economy, plagued by a staggering 250 percent inflation rate and a completely worthless currency.
According to the President, the regime’s economic framework has completely collapsed, leaving them with no choice but to rely on the internet to manage public perception.
The President then called on Secretary of State Marco Rubio to brief the Cabinet on the rapidly evolving diplomatic situation. Trump praised Rubio for “being everywhere” and doing a “great job.”
Rubio doubled down on the administration’s position.
“First of all, the bottom line is that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon,” Rubio said, amplifying the President’s message. ‘And if recent events have done anything, it is to remind us once again that they are the world’s biggest sponsor of terrorism and will never have nuclear weapons.’
While Rubio argued that the administration’s strong preference was to find a peaceful solution, he made clear that the clock was ticking and America’s patience was not unlimited.
Rubio declared that there was “some progress and some interest” from Iran and promised that the administration would see “whether progress can be made in the next few hours and days.”

Iran seizes oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz by deploying speedboats
An oil tanker burned after being hit by an Iranian attack in the ship-to-ship transfer zone in Khor al-Zubair port near Basra, Iraq, on Wednesday, March 11.
‘Now, the President’s choice, Mr. President, as you have told us many times, your choice… is to negotiate these and decide whether you can make a deal. Diplomacy is always the first option,’ Rubio explained.
Rubio declared that there was “some progress and some interest” from Iran and promised that the administration would see “if progress can be made in the next few hours and days.”
However, the Foreign Minister issued a stern warning and reminded Tehran that military action was definitely on the table.
“I would like to remind everyone, Mr. President, you know very well that if this doesn’t work, there are other options available to you,” Rubio said. ‘As long as you are President of the United States, they will never have nuclear weapons and they certainly will not have them. “At this point it’s very clear.”
