Trump says he discussed Ukraine and Iran conflicts with Putin

US President Donald Trump told reporters on Monday that he had a “very good conversation” with Russian President Vladimir Putin about Ukraine and the conflict in the Middle East.

“There’s tremendous hatred between President Putin and (Ukrainian) President Zelenskiy. They can’t seem to get it together, but I think this is a positive call on this issue,” Trump said.

Trump added that Putin “wants to help” with the Iran conflict.

“I said, ‘You might be more helpful by ending the Ukraine-Russia war.’ That would be more helpful,” Trump told reporters at a press conference at his Florida golf club.

Putin has proposed an idea for “a rapid political and diplomatic end to the Iran conflict,” a foreign policy aide to Putin said on Monday.
Trump recently expressed concern about the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which began more than four years ago.
