Storm Amy map: Where 80mph winds will hit Britain this weekend

Britain, the first storm of the season as the storm up to 80MPH will be shot by the wind winds.
Met Office released a series of air warnings that are expected to bring “very strong winds and heavy rain” to the north and western regions in front of Storm Amy.
On Friday and Saturday, there are yellow air warnings for the wind for some parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland and North and North West England, including the risk of life danger.
The first-named storm of the 2025-2026 season will see that Gusts has reached 50 to 60Mph in northern England and will potentially reach 70 to 80MPH.
Particularly on the shores and hills exposed to the North West, stronger Gusts is expected.
Especially compared to Western Scotland, heavy rain is expected.
Met Office warns, especially in accordance with potential disruptions in transportation, power supplies and outdoor activities, especially from Friday to Saturday. The following map shows the air warnings that will be enacted on Friday.
MET Office Vice President Meteorologist Tom CrabTree said: “Although there are still some uncertainties about Amy’s full runway, the system will bring Gale-Force winds to the north and western regions.
“In particular, heavy rains are expected to exceed 30 to 50 mm in six to nine hours and increase localized flood risks.
“As the situation becomes clearer, forecasts and warnings will be updated, so it is important to keep an eye on your region in the coming days.”
Transportation Martin Thomson from Scotland said: “Storm Amy is preparing to bring heavy rain and strong winds to its parts of Scotland and we hope to see the deterioration of the transportation network in the warning areas.
“Rain and wind will bring difficult driving conditions such as less visibility and surface juice, and will also affect ferry and railway networks, so it is important to plan your journey in advance.
“You should use the traffic Scotland website before setting out to make sure that the routes are present and if you plan to travel on trains, ferries and flights, you should consult your operator.”
On Wednesday and Thursday, there is a yellow rain warning for heavy rain that continues to affect Western Scotland.
A yellow warning was given for the wind between 18: 00-17: 00 on Saturday for the North Wales and Northern Ireland regions of Scotland, North West and North East England, North Wales and North Ireland.
