Trump signs commutation releasing former Rep George Santos from prison

President Donald Trump announced Friday on Truth Social that he has commuted the sentence of disgraced former Rep. George Santos (R-Y) after campaign finance violations.
“George Santos was a ‘thug’ of sorts, but there are many bandits in our country who were not sentenced to seven years in prison.” Trump wrote.

“I started thinking about George when the subject of Democratic Senator Richard “Da Nang Dick” Blumenthal came up again….This is far worse than what George Santos did, and at least Santos had the Courage, Conviction, and Intelligence to ALWAYS VOTE REPUBLICANS!” President Trump added. “George has been held in solitary confinement for too long and has been subjected to horrific mistreatment from every angle. That’s why I just signed a Commutation that IMMEDIATELY releases George Santos from prison.”
