Zachary Levi hosts Fox Nation’s ‘David: King of Israel’ biblical drama series

Fox Nation’s original series “David: King of Israel“It tells viewers about the exciting and deeply human journey of David, who became one of Israel’s best-known kings.

The epic story in the Bible follows David, who rose from shepherd to ruler and is considered by Christians to be the ancestor of Jesus Christ.

four-part docudrama hosted by “Shazam!” Actor Zachary Levi, known for the movie. and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” While the audience watches the immersive journey, its narrative is supported by historical reenactments and expert commentary.

The series premiered on February 26 It begins with the chapter “The Shepherd,” in which David, as a young shepherd in Bethlehem, kills a lion and a bear to protect his flock. The second episode, “King of Israel,” premieres March 5 and explores the aftermath of David’s fight with the giant Goliath of Gath and his subsequent battles. The third episode will be released on March 12, and the finale will be released on March 19.

Levi said David’s story has resonated with him personally since he was a child, and he felt it was a story many people could relate to.

“I grew up in a Christian home, and reading my Bible and reading David always stood out to me as the most epic, most amazing story,” Levi said Thursday on “Fox & Friends.”

“It can be difficult to have a relationship with Jesus. David is who we are. David is a man after God’s own heart,” he added.

Levi emphasized that although David was a biblical figure, his life was marked by moral struggle and lessons. She described him as a “good man” who made “terrible decisions” and thinks this lesson is applicable in today’s society.

“These days we like to look around and point our fingers and say, ‘Oh, what a terrible person,'” Levi said.

“But God still sees the heart in us. He still sees the child He has, the beloved child in all of us.”

Beyond the spiritual lessons, Levi promised the docudrama would rival modern fantasy epics, adding: “It’s like the Lord of the Rings in the Bible.”

“You’ve got giants and witches and all kinds of things, you know, you’ve got great and great wars, nation by nation, good versus evil, and there’s spiritual elements to everything,” Levi said.
