No 5-star rating for Uber CEO — Dara Khosrowshahi reveals his less-than-perfect score; shares tips to improve it

No 5 star rating for Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi! Like every driver on the ride-hailing app, the Uber CEO is struggling to improve his less-than-perfect driver rating.
In a recent interview on Sourcery, Khosrowshahi revealed that his Uber rating is 4.83. “My Uber rating is like 4.83,” the CEO said, sharing his intention to improve this.
Khosrowshahi’s average passenger rating on the Uber app is just under 4.89, according to a company blog.
Why is rating important?
Uber said it gives ratings to drivers and passengers to “ensure safety and accountability” on the platform. Although Uber does not specify the exact minimum score, passengers with extremely low scores risk being banned from the platform.
Tips to fix your Uber rider ratings
Speaking to the broadcast, Khosrowshahi shared that he took a few steps to keep his ratings high, saying, “I need to reach 4.9.”
Small gestures like meeting the taxi on time, asking the driver for permission to use the phone, show how the Uber CEO climbs the rating chart.
Khosrowshahi also said he’s a big tipper: “For a $30 ride, I’ll tip $10, $15.”
According to Uber CEO, drivers should not slam the car door if they want to get a good rating. Even Uber suggested on its blog that drivers keep their cars clean and ask the driver for permission if they need to eat or drink in the car.
‘Half of them know who I am’
Although Dara Khosrowshahi is the boss of Uber, he is not known to the drivers of his fleet and therefore does not gain any advantage in passenger ratings.
“Half of them know who I am and then we chat about how things are going and how we can improve the product,” he said. “And then half of them do their own thing, and then I do my own thing.”
“Everything is fine,” Khosrowshahi shared.
Has Uber CEO’s rating increased over the years?
Yes, Dara Khosrowshahi’s rating has seen a marginal improvement this year.
Uber CEO told CBS Sunday Morning in 2025 that Uber’s rating is 4.81. This rating has now increased to 4.83.
