TVK Chief Vijay To Appear Before CBI Today In Karur Stampede Case

Chennai: TVK chief and actor Vijay will appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Delhi in connection with the Karur stampede tragedy in which 41 people lost their lives.

As per the summons issued to him, Vijay will appear before the authorities for questioning at the CBI headquarters.

On January 6, officials said the CBI had issued a notice to Vijay to appear for questioning at the agency’s headquarters in Delhi on January 12 in connection with the Karur stampede case.

The central investigation agency has questioned several officials of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in connection with the case.

The CBI took over the case from the SIT following the Supreme Court order and the investigating agency is gathering evidence regarding the stampede that took place during Vijay’s political meeting in Karur, Tamil Nadu on September 27, 2025. 41 people died and more than 60 people were injured in the incident.
