Two injured, car destroyed, following police chase in Perth’s north-east

Two people were injured and a car was crushed following a police chase in Middle Swan on Sunday night.

9News Perth He reported that the driver of a white Toyota Landcruiser ran a red light and failed to stop for officers, crashing into a black Lexus at the intersection of the Great Northern Highway and the Reid Highway around 8 p.m.

The 30-year-old driver of the Lexus suffered serious injuries and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital, while the 44-year-old female passenger was treated for minor injuries.

The 36-year-old man driving the Landcruiser fled the scene of the accident but was later arrested.

He has since been released and has not yet been charged while police continue their investigation.

Detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward.
