UK man, 35, dies in Thailand road crash during holiday | World | News

A 35-year-old man from Blackburn died following a car crash in Thailand.

Salim, from Great Harwood in Lancashire, was later flown back to England and his body was identified by Imran Patel of Blackburn Muslim Funeral Service.

The inquest into his death was opened and adjourned at Preston Coroner’s Court on Thursday, April 2.

The court was told Salim was working as a car valet and living in Blackburn Road at the time of his death.

District Attorney Kate Bisset said during the brief hearing: “This gentleman died as a result of a traffic accident in Thailand.”

The coroner confirmed the collision took place on March 18 and Salim’s body was identified five days later.

A full investigation is planned in due course and the case is expected to be heard again on June 25.
