Two people were found dead in a caravan in one of England’s most popular national parks. The grim discovery was made after paramedics were called to Burley in the New Forest on Sunday. Emergency responders said they were alerted to the “unexpected death” of two people in the southern England area shortly after 12pm on October 12.

A 38-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man, both from Blandford Forum, a market town in Dorset, were pronounced dead at the scene. Police said relatives have been notified and a file will be prepared for the coroner. The pair were attending New Forest Cider’s Craft Cider Festival on Pound Lane in Burley. Southern Daily Echo reports.

In a statement, organizers said: “We are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic deaths of two people who attended the New Forest Cider Festival this weekend.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with their family and friends at this difficult time. “The incident occurred in a private vehicle on Saturday night and was not incident-related.

“Police have confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances and we are fully co-operating with their investigation.”

A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: “Shortly after midday on Sunday 12 October, our South Central Ambulance Service partners notified us of the unexpected death of two people in a caravan parked on Pound Lane, Burley.

“Officers attended the scene. A 38-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man, both from Blanford Forum, were pronounced dead at the scene.

“The next of kin have been notified and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
