A UK pet store is to open 160 new stores across the country as part of a wider five-year development plan. The company, which has confirmed the opening dates of four new facilities in the coming months, has enjoyed success in recent years since it was founded by a family in 1971.

Jollyes, a pet store specializing in food, toys, accessories and healthcare products, currently operates over 120 stores across the UK. It has doubled the number of stores over the last three years, including new locations in Blackpool, Ponders End, Hartlepool and Whitehaven this year. Other stores in Lincoln, Kidderminster, Yeovil and Derby will also open from 15 May until the end of June.

As reported by Sun“We’re on a mission to make high-quality pet care accessible to everyone by investing in assortment development alongside our commitment to low prices while delivering great value every day. Wherever we open a store, we’re becoming the destination of choice for pet parents in the community,” said Warren Bester, Jollyes’ director of real estate.

Jollyes has identified 160 towns and cities across the country where it will expand its franchise over the next five years. They include key locations such as London, Birmingham, Liverpool and Bristol.

The company was founded in Enfield in 1971 and has grown rapidly since then. In addition to pet products, Jollyes also provides services such as community clinics, vaccinations and grooming.

It has emerged as a major rival to Pets at Home, becoming the UK’s second largest pet retailer. Here is the full list of locations where Jollyes plans to operate.
