78.09% Polling in Nalgonda, Khammam Municipalities

Nalgonda: Voting for the election of 161 councilors in seven municipalities in Nalgonda district ended peacefully on Wednesday.
The average turnout in the district was recorded as 78.09 percent. Out of the total 3,07,992 voters, 2,40,514 exercised their right to vote. Turnout was 1.4 percentage points lower than the 79.5 percent recorded in the 2020 municipal elections. It was also lower than the 89 per cent turnout reported in the last gram panchayat elections.
While Chandur municipality recorded the highest turnout of 91.2 per cent, Nandikonda recorded the lowest turnout of 59.69 per cent. Nalgonda Municipal Corporation got 77.36 per cent votes and Miryalaguda got 77.44 per cent votes. Devarakonda recorded 80.26 percent, Haliya 85.78 percent and Chityal 87.88 percent.
An average turnout of 78.09 per cent was recorded in five municipalities in Khammam district. Edulapuram got 85.35 percent, Wyra 83.6 percent, Sathupalli 77.44 percent, Kalluru 86.37 percent and Madhira 77.88 percent.
