Monday:
Showers in the northern and eastern parts of the country in the early hours will be more widespread during the day and will become locally heavy. Some southern and western areas are mostly in good condition with some warm sunshine.
Outlook from Tuesday to Thursday:
Showers in the north-west on Tuesday and west of Cornwall on Wednesday. Otherwise, dry it under some sunlight. There are strong easterly winds in the middle of the week, but warming in the south and west.
UK long term weather forecast from the Met Office
High pressure is likely to be concentrated near or across the UK for much of this period. Many places will be largely dry and periods will be clear or sunny.
The cold air will attempt to enter the country from the north towards the end of next week, but will likely make limited progress towards the northeast for a short period, where it may bring short spells of showers, some wintry.
Winds will be mostly light, but will blow stronger in the northeast for a short time as cold air tries to move south. Temperatures are likely to be close to normal or slightly warmer for many, but there is also a risk of colder conditions affecting the north next weekend.
