UK weather LIVE: Hottest cities as Met Office forecasts 26C heat | Weather | News

Many Brits today are expecting a quiet Wednesday, with the Met Office predicting temperatures will rise as high as 26C. The national weather agency said on April 7 that “fine, sunny weather” would be the prevailing conditions for many people, particularly in England and Wales. The forecast reads: “High temperatures in the low to mid 20s are expected across England and Wales today, with the warmest conditions generally occurring in sheltered areas including parts of north-west Wales where 24C and even 25C are possible.

“Lighter winds on Wednesday will make it feel even warmer, particularly in central and south-east England, where temperatures could reach 26°C. These are well above average for early April, which are generally in the mid-teens.” In fact, many people in southern England woke up to mild temperatures on 8 April; At 7 am the temperature of 8-9 degrees was already recorded. Today’s Met Office forecasts show temperatures peaking at 25°C in London at 4pm, with Plymouth enjoying a balmy 21°C. Other cities to record the highest temperatures today include Cardiff and Manchester; Both are expected to reach 20 degrees. However, not every part of the UK is expected to experience sunshine. The Met Office has warned that the weather will be cloudier and cooler in Northern Ireland and northwest Scotland, with occasional rain showers.
