UK weather maps show exact date UK to bask in 18C Indian Summer | Weather | News

Four UK counties will see temperatures of 18C next week, with a potential Indian Summer and some warmer weather on the way. WXCharts’ latest weather maps predict temperatures will be at their highest for parts of the UK next Saturday (25 October).

It will reach 18C in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex; 17C will be experienced in Kent, London, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Lincolnshire. The rest of England will be between 11C and 16C. Wales will be between 11C and 13C. Northern Ireland temperatures will be between 5C and 7C. Temperatures in Scotland will be between 3C and 7C. The average temperature in October is 13C in London and 10C in Edinburgh.

The Met Office said of the period: “There is likely to be a highly unstable pattern throughout much of this period as low pressure systems originating over the North Atlantic move eastwards or north-eastwards across the UK.

“These will bring showers or longer spells of rain, perhaps accompanied by strong winds at times, but will also be interspersed with drier and brighter intervals, although these will generally be of shorter duration than the recent established rainfall.

“Later in the period, as high pressure builds westward over the Atlantic and low pressure intensifies to the east of the UK, there may be a shift to a slightly cooler and wetter north-west regime. Temperatures may be generally close to or slightly above average, but may then fall slightly below normal.”

From the end of October this is likely to be variable, with the north-west regime of showers most favored in the UK. Come November, an unstable pattern is expected as Atlantic low pressure systems move across the UK.

These may shift further south than normal, bringing showers or longer-lasting rain, perhaps accompanied by strong winds at times. Temperatures will likely be near or slightly above the overall average.

Thursday: Cloudy, with some light showers, especially in the southern and eastern parts.

The chance of showers is increasing in north-east Scotland. Brighter magic thrives in some places.

Outlook from Friday to Sunday: Most of Friday and Saturday will be cloudy, but showers are possible at times, although brighter showers are also expected in some places.

It will change as wind and rain arrive from Sunday.
