US Imposes Fresh Sanctions Targeting Iran Oil Trade, Hezbollah

Washington: The Treasury said that the US imposes sanctions on Thursday against a network that smokes Iranian oil hidden as Iraqi oil.

The department said that he had bought and sent a company network, which was operated by Iraq-British National Salim Ahmed, at least 2020, hidden or blended for billions of dollars of Iranian oil.

“Treasury will continue to target Tehran’s income sources and intensify economic pressure to disrupt its access to financial resources that increase the destabilizing activities of the regime.” He said.

The US implemented the waves of sanction on oil exports on Iran’s nuclear program and financing of militant groups in the Middle East.

Reuters reported that the fuel oil smuggling network, which produces at least $ 1 billion for Iran and its deputies at the end of last year, has developed in Iraq since 2022.

On Thursday, the sanctions came after the United States strikes on three Iranian nuclear areas, including the deepest embedded enrichment facility on June 22, Fordow. Pentagon said on Wednesday that the strikes have reduced Iran’s nuclear program up to two years, despite a much more cautious first assessment of leaking to the public.

Axios reported that the US and Iran are expected to talk about the nuclear program in Oslo next week.

Said said that companies and ships blended Iranian oil with Iraq oil, and then they were sold as Iraqi oil using fake documents to avoid sanctions to Western buyers through Iraq or United Arab Emirates.

The Treasury against the UAE -based company against tankers, although it avoids an official relationship. Formerly known as Iraqi transportation services and oil trade (AISSOT), etc. tankers missed oil for the benefit of the Iranian Government and the Islamic Revolutionary Corps, which was appointed by Washington as a terrorist organization.

The sanctions prevent the US assets of the identified and prevent Americans from doing business with them.

VS tankers rejected the Treasury’s claims and said that “he will follow all legal remedies as needed”. Iran’s mission in New York did not respond immediately to the request for comments.

The United States also approved a few ships accused of participating in the secret delivery of Iranian oil and intensifying the pressure on Iran’s “shadow fleet”.

The Ministry of Treasury also issued sanctions on several senior officials and an organization associated with the Hezbollah-controlled financial institution al-Hassan.

The department said that the authorities have carried out millions of dollars to Hezbollah, who ultimately benefit, but hidden.
