US launches strikes against Iran; Telstra investigating second network fault; Indian PM kicks off Australian visit

Telstra outage: Just hours after the telco announced it had resolved an outage that disrupted mobile services for much of yesterday, Telstra was urgently investigating a second network failure that prevented some calls from connecting, including Triple Zero, on Wednesday night.

Transport: Victoria’s V/Line services will continue to be affected this morning as a result of the Telstra outage, and in NSW regional trains on the Southern Highlands line and parts of the Hunter line will be replaced by buses for a second day.

Middle East at war: The US military launched new attacks on Iran. This came just hours after US President Donald Trump said the ceasefire was over following Iranian attacks on American military facilities in the Gulf.

Policy: Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi are set to strike a groundbreaking deal to boost Australia’s uranium exports to India. Modi, one of the world’s most powerful leaders, arrived in Melbourne on Wednesday night to meet Albanese on Thursday.

State of Origin: NSW defeated Queensland 30-12 at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday night.
