US singer D4vd to go on trial for murder in death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez

Burke’s trial is scheduled for Aug. 31. The hearing will begin within 90 days from this date.

Prosecutors alleged Burke stabbed the teenager before dismembering him, following years of allegations of sexual abuse.

They claim the teenager killed her because she threatened to expose his affair with a minor and ruin his multimillion-dollar music career.

Evidence read in court Monday showed Celeste made threats to Burke on April 22, 2025, stemming from arguments about her friendship with another girl.

“I swear to GOD I will kill you,” one profanity-laden message read, followed by a threat to strangle her and lie about her to her father. “I will end your career and your life, I will destroy everything,” one message read.

The next day, Hernandez drove to Burke’s home in Hollywood in the Uber he sent to pick her up.

Prosecutors claimed Burke stabbed him when he arrived.
