US-Venezuela Conflict: Why Trump’s Latest Military Action Can Be Going Against His ‘Peace President’ Image | World News

US-Venezuela Strike: Over the past few months, US President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed to have “solved” eight global conflicts and brokered ceasefire agreements. He also unofficially received the Nobel Peace Prize and was supported by many global leaders. But in the midst of his ‘peace efforts’, his administration launched a major military operation in Venezuela; It was reported that during this operation, President Nicolás Maduro and his wife were captured and removed from the country.

Since taking office in January 2024, US President Trump has repeatedly claimed to have resolved eight wars, including the conflict between India and Pakistan, but New Delhi has rejected US mediation efforts.

According to IANS, Trump had previously said that he had “solved eight wars in 10 months”, “eliminated Iran’s nuclear threat” and “ended the war in Gaza”, “brought peace to the Middle East” and secured the release of hostages.

Remarkably, Trump managed to end the Gaza war; Efforts to broker an end to the Ukrainian War have so far failed.

His attempts to force Ukraine into a deal with Russia (once openly insulting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky) met stiff resistance from European allies who closed ranks around Kiev and confronted Trump, IANS reported.

US-Venezuela Tension

Claims that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has been captured come at a time when tensions between the United States and Venezuela have risen sharply.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly accused the Venezuelan President of heading what he called a “narco-terrorist” government.

“The United States has successfully carried out a large-scale attack against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who was captured and sent out of the country with his wife. This operation was carried out in conjunction with the US Marshals Service. Details will follow. A News Conference will be held today at 11:00 a.m. in Mar-a-Lago. Thank you for your interest in this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” the US President said on Truth Social.

Several large explosions were heard in the Venezuelan capital Caracas in the early hours of Saturday.

In its first official statement after the violent explosions were heard in the capital Caracas, Venezuela harshly criticized the US government led by Donald Trump, accusing it of carrying out what it called an “extremely serious military attack”.

According to reports, the incidents occurred around 02:00 in the morning local time and caused panic in many parts of the Venezuelan capital. Meanwhile, Maduro declared a national emergency after the explosions.
