Uttar Pradesh weather today: IMD issues severe heatwave alert for 11 districts as Banda bakes at 48°C; check Lucknow, Noida, Ghaziabad forecast

According to the statement made by the Meteorological Department, temperatures in these districts are expected to remain 3 to 4 degrees Celsius above normal levels. Scorching winds in the afternoons can pose serious health risks, especially in Bundelkhand and the southern parts of the state, where heatwave conditions are most severe.
Mohammad Danish, senior scientist at the Center for Meteorology, told UNI: “Conditions ranging from heatwaves to severe heatwaves are likely to prevail during the day in many parts of the southern part of the state and other areas. Nights will also be unusually hot in some places and will not provide relief from the heat of the day.”
Severe heatwave in Uttar Pradesh
IMD has warned of severe heatwaves in 14 districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Chandauli, Varanasi, Ballia, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur City, Rae Barelli, Auraiya and Lalitpur. The weather is expected to remain dry in the state due to strong winds blowing at 20 to 40 kilometers per hour. Nights are expected to remain warm in western Uttar Pradesh for the next 48 hours, after which the orange alert may come into effect.
On Tuesday, many cities in UP crossed the 40 degree mark and the hottest cities in UP included Jhansi and Agra, each recording a maximum temperature of 46.5 degrees Celsius, followed by Prayagraj at 45.8 degrees Celsius.
Weather in Lucknow today
Lucknow will experience extremely high temperatures on Wednesday and the maximum temperature is expected to remain between 43°C and 45°C. The capital city of UP may witness strong hot winds along with hazy sunshine during the afternoon hours. Nighttime conditions are also expected to be uncomfortable, with minimum temperatures likely to remain above 30°C.
While no significant rainfall is expected in the city on Wednesday, the intense heat disturbance is expected to continue until the evening hours.
Noida, Ghaziabad temperature conditions
Temperature in Noida is expected to remain extremely high on Wednesday and the temperature may rise to around 45°C while minimum temperatures may remain near 31°C. Bright sunshine and warm surface winds are expected throughout the afternoon, significantly increasing heat stress levels. Weather conditions will likely remain dry with almost no chance of rain. Ghaziabad is also likely to experience similar weather conditions with strong winds throughout the day. Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 45 degrees and 30 degrees Celsius respectively.
