Uxbridge stabbing suspect is Afghan migrant who arrived in UK in back of a lorry | Politics | News

An Afghan national arrested over a triple stabbing in Uxbridge has been granted asylum after arriving in the back of a lorry, the Daily Express understands.

A 22-year-old young man was arrested after a man was stabbed to death and two people, including a 14-year-old child, were injured in the incident that took place in Midhurst Gardens.

It is understood that the suspect came to the UK as an “unaccompanied refugee child” in 2020 and received permission to stay in 2022.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect was not living in an asylum hotel or any Home Office accommodation.

The 49-year-old dog walker died after being treated at the scene, while another 45-year-old man suffered life-changing injuries. The 14-year-old boy’s injury is not life-threatening, nor is it life-threatening.

Detectives are trying to establish a relationship between the suspect and the three victims, but the attack is not being treated as terrorism.

Local people said that the suspect, who allegedly lived as a tenant in the 45-year-old man’s house, chased the two victims from the house after a fight.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the 49-year-old man, who was walking his dog at the time, tried to intervene. They later claimed that his neck had been cut.

Logan Woolley, 16, of Midhurst Gardens, was watching television when he saw a person “running covered in blood with a knife in his hand”.

“I saw him being shocked and another person performing CPR.”

He said he saw the victim walking his dog in the morning and evening.

In the footage published online, the suspect is seen walking on a residential street, then followed by two police officers, one of whom points a stun gun and shouts “drop the knife” and “get on the ground”.

Several more people joined them before the Taser was fired and the man fell to the ground.

An eyewitness told the Daily Mail: “The Afghan man was chasing a man and a child on the road and a local man with his dog also tried to stop him.

“There was blood everywhere and paramedics were there for at least 30 minutes to save his life. It was pure carnage and it was heartbreaking to see.”

Another resident added: “The dead man was very well known around here. He was a very nice man, very kind and peaceful. He was just trying to help and it cost him his life.”

A third eyewitness said: “I saw a young man running out of the house brandishing a large knife. He had a crazy look in his eyes and was screaming.”

Chief Inspector Jill Horsfall urged the public not to share shocking images of the attack online.

He said: “This was a shocking and senseless act of violence that left one person dead and two others injured.

“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this unimaginably difficult time.

“The incident has understandably caused concern in the local community. I have deployed multiple police officers to the local area. They will be here to provide reassurance throughout the week as detectives work hard to piece together the circumstances.

“I understand there has been a lot of speculation online following this incident. We ask that you trust us for information and do not share sensitive images.”

A Home Office spokesman said: “Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those affected by this terrible incident.

“We receive regular updates from the Metropolitan Police. The priority must now be the police investigation so that those responsible can be brought to justice.”
