A woman who was forced to have sex with “numerous” men for three decades said “I’m free” after her forcer was arrested. Rodney Johnston, 67, of HMP Norwich, was found guilty of a number of offenses including three counts of causing a woman to have sexual intercourse by threat or intimidation, two counts of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent and one count of intimidating a witness.

The jury reached their verdict after an eight-week trial in September. Jurors could not reach a decision regarding the rape charge to be included in the file. His victim, who has a legal right to anonymity for life, said he was now trying to rebuild his life, adding: “I’m free for the first time in decades.”
