At least seven explosions and low-flying planes were heard in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, at around 02:00 in the morning local time on Saturday.

Citizens flocked to the streets in various neighborhoods. Some of them were visible in the distance from various parts of Caracas.

It is reported that electricity was also cut off in a large part of the capital, and an outage occurred near one of the country’s major military bases.

According to local media reports, explosions were also heard outside the capital. Venezuelan news source Efecto Cocuyo reported that explosions also occurred in La Guaira, just north of the capital, and in the city of Higuerote on the country’s coast.
