Victoria Beckham is being ‘overprotective’ of her daughter Harper as she prepares to follow in her mother’s footsteps.
The 51-year-old fashion designer is said to have hinted that his 14-year-old daughter could be the next Kylie Jenner, 28.
But Victoria is doing everything she can to make sure Harper’s public experience is not like hers.
A source told OK! magazine: ‘Victoria knows all too well how much pressure being in the spotlight can be. The last thing Harper wants is to experience the same thing she did, this is her biggest fear.
‘Victoria knows the pitfalls of fame and works hard behind the scenes to protect Harper. ‘He’s very self-aware and protective of himself.’
The Daily Mail has contacted Beckham’s representatives for comment.

Harper is reportedly stepping into the world of beauty entrepreneurship.
Accordingly SunThe name ‘HIKU BY Harper’ has been filed under two trademark applications through H7B Limited, a business set up by Victoria in her daughter’s name, which refers to Harper’s full name, Harper Seven Beckham.
A source told the publication: ‘Harper loves fashion and make-up and has already started doing make-up tutorials.
‘The plan is to create a brand inspired by popular culture and Korean beauty, targeting the young market.
‘The Beckhams are incredibly encouraging of parents to explore their children’s talents and hobbies and business ideas. They’re a very entrepreneurial family.’
Harper has become increasingly visible on her mother’s Instagram account and even started her own account earlier this year.
Victoria has even previously joked that Harper will be either a beauty mogul or a stand-up comedian and said her daughter is “funny.”
Last year, Harper made her first public speech at Harper’s Bazaar’s annual Women of the Year event, presenting her mother with a prestigious entrepreneurship award.

He said: ‘I’m so nervous. Especially since tonight is a school night. I hope this doesn’t get me into trouble.
‘My amazing mother built an incredible business from scratch and showed me the value of hard work.
‘But most of all, he has always taught me to be kind and rarely misses school even though he has a million things to do.’
It comes after Victoria shared her advice to Cruz, who is following in her footsteps in the music industry, saying it’s “not their fault” their children are “nepo babies.”
The fashion designer and her husband, football legend David, 50, have four children: Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, all of whom are forging their own careers in the public eye.
In a new interview, Victoria has addressed the nepotism row by defending her family against the ‘nepo baby’ label, explaining that her children are just their parents’ children.
He told The Sun: ‘It’s not their fault, give them a chance.’
The term ‘Nepo baby’ refers to children of celebrities who are often thought to take advantage of their parents’ fame and connections to get ahead.
It comes after Victoria shared her advice for Cruz, who is following in her footsteps in the music industry, saying it’s “not their fault” their children are “nepo babies.”

He told the publication: ‘I told him, ‘Don’t expect immediate success.’
‘You’ve got to start small and build up to it – and that’s exactly what he does, playing small venues, no fuss, doing his own thing.’
Victoria believes success is often better when it takes time, noting that it took 20 years to grow the fashion brand into what it is today.
Cruz continues to promote his new song by sharing product photos revealing the release date.
Beckham’s youngest son has reportedly signed with top music management company C3, which works with US indie band The Strokes.
In another nod to his upcoming music, Cruz shared a photo of the ’10/24/25′ date he first mentioned last month.
On Instagram on Thursday, Cruz reposted a photo of a series of white T-shirts; One of them had the date October.
Possibly alluding to the lyrics, one T-shirt read, “You want to know what you look like,” while another read, “I know how you feel.”
Finally, one of the t-shirts said ‘Cruz Beckham, Coming Soon’.
