Vietnam Airlines flight from Hyderabad to Hanoi cancelled after 12-hour delay

Vietnam Airlines flight from Hyderabad to Hanoi was canceled on Saturday morning, November 8, 2025, after a delay of nearly 12 hours, leaving several passengers stranded at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) overnight.

Flight VN 984 operated by Vietnam Airlines was originally planned to take off from Hyderabad at 23:55 on November 7 and arrive at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi at 05:45 local time. However, passengers arriving at the airport on Friday night were informed that there would be a delay extending until the next morning. The flight was later canceled around 10am on Friday.

While there was no official statement from Vietnam Airlines, airport officials in Hyderabad confirmed that the cancellation was due to technical problems on the plane.

Videos circulating on social media show passengers having heated conversations with airline staff, claiming they were not provided with a clear explanation or assistance during the lengthy delay.
