Vodafone Idea posts ₹51,970 cr Q4 profit on AGR relief, promoter to infuse ₹4,730 cr
Vodafone Idea, India’s third largest telecom operator, published a statement. ₹51,970 crore net profit in the March quarter, thanks to a one-off accounting gain from the government’s adjusted gross revenue (AGR) deduction.

The loss before recognition of exceptional gain was: ₹5,515 crore, shrinking ₹5,286 crore in the previous quarter and ₹7,167 crore in the same period of the previous year.
Promoter infusion
Separately, the telecom operator on Saturday said entrepreneur Aditya Birla Group has committed to inject capital. ₹4,730 crore. The company said the board approved the issuance of warrants convertible into equity shares to the promoter entity.
The backer’s infusion is significant as the company has struggled to secure bank financing for months and lenders have been cautious about extending new debt to the cash-strapped telecom services provider.
The decrease in finance cost has also helped the company’s profitability.
