WA Police officer assaulted while attending disturbance at home on Aldersyde Centre, Dawesville

A man has been charged with assaulting a police officer in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The shooting occurred around 4 a.m. in Dawesville as police were responding to reports of a disturbance at a home in Aldersyde Center.

When the police arrived on the scene, many people caused chaos.

While police were at the scene, a 25-year-old man allegedly punched the officer in the face.

The officer was taken to Peel Health Campus by St John WA. He has since been released.

The man was arrested and charged with assaulting a public servant.

He will appear before the Mandurah Magistrates Court on June 5.
