Recall of Frigidaire minifridges sold at major retailers nears 1 million

Nearly 1 million Frigidaire-brand mini refrigerators are now being recalled due to potential fire hazards, as part of an expanded recall issued by a Canadian company last year.
Curtis International, which manufactures and distributes electronics and home appliances, is recalling 330,000 mini refrigerators in addition to the 634,000 mini refrigerators it recalled in July 2024. don’t notice It was released Thursday by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The recall covers the Curtis International 6-box mini refrigerator model EFMIS121, which was sold exclusively at Target stores and Target.com from January 2020 through October 2023. The affected mini refrigerators are red and have “Frigidaire” written on the front. According to the recall notice, Curtis International has received “at least” six reports of this specific model catching fire.
The mini refrigerator model that Curtis International is recalling is red and says:

CPSC advises consumers who purchased the EFMIS121 mini refrigerator model to stop using it immediately. They should also unplug it, cut the power cord, and write “Recall” in permanent marker on the front of the refrigerator. The recall notice states that consumers should follow local and state regulations when disposing of the mini refrigerator.
Affected customers can visit www.recallrtr.com/minifridge to obtain a refund. The product recall number is 26-199.
