1.1 Crore Copies Dispatched To Districts Ahead Of Academic Session

Hyderabad: According to the Telangana Government Textbook Printing House, textbooks for the academic year 2026-27 will be available in the open market from June 1. On the other hand, free supplies for public school students are expected to reach all regions before schools reopen.

Officials said 1.35 crore free textbooks were required this year and 1.09 crore copies, or about 80 per cent, have already reached the district headquarters. “We will complete the supply of the remaining books by May 10. When the schools open, the books will reach every student in all schools,” they said.

They added that printing and distribution of private school textbooks was continuing as planned. Stating that “As every year, all necessary steps have been taken regarding printing and distribution for the 2026-27 academic year”, officials stated that the tender process was completed in the last week of April and that the supplies will continue according to the normal calendar after the summer holiday.

District-wise data shows that 1,10,26,229 books have already been sent out of the requirement of 1,35,70,155 and the overall distribution is 81 percent. Officials said students and parents can expect full availability in schools and on the open market as the academic session begins.
