England vs India: Jamie Smith’s epic keeps hosts afloat but tourists in command

UK Batter Harry Brook, BBC Test Match Special: Special: “It was nice to spend some time with the stain there [Jamie Smith]. He has a long British career in front of him. I hope we went back to the game.
“If I didn’t go out, we wouldn’t be in this situation now, but we’ve seen how fast it could change last week. Akash and Siraj leaned well. In the game, they attacked the stumps with all the dismissal modes.
“Fortunately, we’ve seen Jaiswal’s back and hopefully we can lead tomorrow. India is in the driving seat, but I hope we can put pressure on the early small doors and break them down.”
Former Captain Michael Vaughan: “The only concern I have is that India has much more movement with the new ball. Since I see it right now, it has to make some stitches on England movements because it is a straight step.
“India is brought to the agenda to this kind of small gates. I cannot see that it has collapsed tomorrow, they will not give them anything. Today they have dominated other than three hours.”
Former England Bowling player Steven Finn: “If I were inside in the Indian locker room, play the first session, be cautious and don’t let England wind with early small doors.
“They may have an eyes in the air, but I’m not sure they’ll be brave enough to make a statement. They’ll be careful about Headingley and what happened last time.
“However, if they collect well, they have a great opportunity to win the test and do 1-1.”
