White House defends firing of jobs official

White House Economic Consultants rejected the criticism of President Donald Trump’s firing at the President of the Bureau of Statistics and weakening his confidence in official economic data.
Although Trump was dismissed on Friday, although the BLS commissioner Erika Mcentarfer had any evidence of inaccuracies, after showing that a report slowed down in July and that it was much weaker than previously reported in May and June.
In an article on the social media platform, Trump claimed that the figures were “Republicans and I was fraudulent to look bad”.
Trump again criticized Mcentarfer on Sunday and said he would name a new commission member in the next three or four days.
US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer told CBS that Trump has “real concerns” about BLS data.
Hassett said that the main concern at Fox News Sunday was clear downward revisions that show that 258,000 less jobs have been created in May and June of Friday.
Trump accused Mcentarfer of imitating his job numbers without proof of any data manipulation.
BLS calls the close employment report as well as consumer and manufacturer price data.
BLS did not give any reason for revised data, but “Monthly revisions are due to additional reports from enterprises and government agencies since the recent forecasts and since the recalculation of seasonal factors”.
Mcentarfer’s fire was added to the increasing concerns about the quality of the US economic data, and for dozens of trade partners, a series of new tariffs went to the heels of a series of new tariffs and rolled the global stock market markets as they proceeded with their plans to rearrange the global economy.
Critics, including the former leaders of Bls, hit Trump’s movement and called on the Congress to investigate the abolition of Mcentarfer and said that he would shake a respected agency.
“It weakens reliability,” former Bls commissioner and co -chairman of the Bls Friends of the Bls, “reliability,” he said.
“There is no way for a commissioner to publish the number of jobs,” CNN said about the Union State.
Former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers criticized the fire of Mcentarfer.
Summers, ABC’s this week, “This is an unimaginable fee. These figures, the detailed procedures found in the handbook by watching the teams of hundreds of people are literally brought together by the teams,” he said.
