Two men charged at Sydney Airport after officers allegedly seize $13m of cocaine

Two young men were arrested at Sydney Airport after police officers found 20kg of cocaine in their luggage.
The two men, both 21, were arrested at Sydney International Airport on Friday after Australian Border Force (ABF) officers allegedly found the illegal drugs after being selected for a bag search.
The substance was tested and returned a positive result for cocaine.

The estimated street value of this amount of cocaine is $13 million, which equates to an estimated 130,000 potential street deals.
The two men were charged by the AFP with one count of importing a commercial quantity of a border-controlled drug and one count of possessing a commercial quantity.
These crimes carry a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.
The two men, both New Zealand citizens, appeared before Parramatta Local Court on Saturday.
Both men were detained pending their next court appearance on December 3.
AFP Detective Acting Inspector Stuart Millen said the AFP was determined to combat attempts by criminal networks to use air travel as part of an international drug trafficking chain.
“The AFP is committed to protecting Australia against drug trafficking and disrupting criminals who seek to profit at the expense and suffering of the community,” he said.
