Williams hopeful Winning Emotions can spark successful day at Moruya

Goulburn horseman Danny Williams will line up three horses at the TAB Speedway in Gosford on Saturday to send a team of runners to Sunday’s Moruya meeting.
Williams managed to finish a close second with Exit Fee at Gosford, while Silver Serenade, who entered the Moruya meeting, finished fifth and Sneaky Pee Cee finished eighth.
With Silver Serenade out of the Moruya event, Williams will rely on stablemate Winning Emotions in the Funland Ulladulla Country Boosted Benchmark 58 Handicap (1010m) ridden by Shaun Guymer.
“He’s a serviceable horse with a solid track record for himself,” Williams said of Winning Emotions.
“His form at the start of the year was very good, finishing second at Moruya and fourth at Rosehill with a good team, while not losing much.
“He was in midfield behind a runaway winner at Rosehill Speedway before the break and had a trial at Goulburn to prepare for his return. I expect him to run very well.”
Piere Boudvillain’s Elasand will become the first Williams runner at Moruya when he lines up in the Tailor Made Financial Services Maiden Plate (920m).
“He’s made eight starts in a row and although he stayed safely afloat in his last run, his previous two efforts weren’t that bad,” Wiliams said.
“If he can put his best foot forward he can improve.”
Glenn’s Legacy will start with Adrian Layt entering the BSP Consulting Supergirl Handicap (1200m).
“He is coming back after a good spell and has had two solid trials to prepare him for a return to racing,” Williams said.
“He finished second in the first race at Wagga last March and then after a break he ran a couple of runs at Moruya and Goulburn to finish fourth and then fifth at Goulburn on his last run.”
Williams will complete the Moruya encounter with Guymer teaming up with Tjaka in the Tomakin Sports and Social Club Mother’s Day Cup Benchmark 58 Handicap (1650m).
“It wouldn’t be a surprise if he was a competent and forward-looking performer at best,” Williams said.
