Winery belonging to Ilhan Omar’s husband shut down amid financial spotlight

The California winery, owned in part by the husband of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), abruptly closed in early April as House Republicans scrutinized Omar’s net worth.

“Financial disclosure forms filed by your wife, Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, show the following: eStCru LLC and Rose Lake The value of Capital LLC, in which you hold ownership shares, increased from $51,000 in 2023 to $30 million in 2024,” House Oversight Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., wrote in a February letter to Mynett.

Comer requested documents and communications related to eStCru and Rose Lake Capital LLC, a Washington, D.C.-based venture capital firm that Mynett co-founded in 2022.

Omar’s 2025 financial disclosures listed the value of her husband’s stake in eStCru as between $1 million and $5 million; This is a significant jump from the $15,001 to $50,000 listed in the 2023 disclosures.
