JBM Group signs exclusivity pact to buy Fortum’s EV charging business in India

There are approximately 26,300 electric vehicle public charging stations (EVPCS) in India. Under ₹10,900 crore PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Development (PM E-Drive) programme, approx. ₹2,000 crore has been allocated for setting up 22,100 charging stations for electric cars, 48,400 for two-wheeler and three-wheeler electric vehicles and 1,800 for electric trucks and buses. Despite this push to strengthen EV infrastructure, range anxiety remains a concern. Moreover, the establishment of public charging stations in India continues to face many challenges.
