Women Safety Wing Holds Anti-Trafficking Awareness Drives

Hyderabad: The women and child safety wing organized awareness programs in Hyderabad on Sunday as part of a state-wide campaign under the ‘Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika’ initiative.
The Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) conducted tours of Borabanda basti, Rehmathnagar, Osmania General Hospital and Chowmahalla Palace under the supervision of senior officials, including deputy commissioner of police (Women and Child Safety Wing) and deputy commissioner of police (AHTU and JB Unit).
Officials said the teams sensitized the public on gender issues, child safety and violence against women and children. They also touched upon the risks associated with cybercrime and the precautions that should be taken when using social media platforms.
The teams also raised awareness about human trafficking, including its risks and preventive measures.
According to a press release issued by the city police commissioner, citizens were encouraged to report incidents without fear and were informed of emergency helpline numbers, including 100 and 112 for police assistance, 1930 for cybercrime and 1098 for child helpline.
