World Cup Round of 16 betting picks for Canada, Morocco and France

Happy Independence Day everyone! Nothing says independence better than the freedom to take our hard-earned money and invest it in a sport that most people only watch once every four years.

We do this in the Olympics, we do this in the World Cup. We’ve had plenty of swings and misses, but we’ve also cashed in on a few solid plus-money games. Let’s try to do it again.

Canada – Morocco

This marks the start of the round of 16. There aren’t too many lopsided matches in terms of odds anymore. (More on that in a moment.) Instead, we should get the best teams and solid matches from now on. The Canada-Morocco match is no exception. Canada is here after ousting Saudi Arabia.

I haven’t seen much about our neighbors to the north that I’ve been overly impressed with. He’s scored at least one goal in every game and has been shut out twice, so he’s got some things to hang his hat on.

MOROCCO SEND THE NETHERLANDS HOME WITH A DRAMATIC WORLD CUP PENALTY

Morocco’s task of getting a win against the Netherlands was much more difficult. He won in the penalty shootout and set the stage for a crazy shootout. He hasn’t lost a match yet and only has one draw. This should be a tough match and I think a draw at +245 is where the value lies. I’m not going to tell you it’s a safe bet, but I think these two teams are a little more evenly matched and neither looks super aggressive offensively. Give me the draw.

Paraguay – France

If you watched the Argentina game yesterday, you know that the lines don’t always tell you the whole story of how things will go. The Argentines were big favorites and Cape Verde gave them all they had. Argentina won 3-2 but it took extra time to get there. Paraguay has a chance to do that today against France.

France are -1600 away from advancing, meaning that even if it goes to a penalty shoot-out, France are still heavy favourites. Paraguay beat Germany on penalties to get to this point. It was the best match of the tournament.

France looked unstoppable. He is still the favorite to win the World Cup. If you’ve watched France and even if you’re not a football fan, you can understand why. Kylian Mbappé was dynamic and continues to score goals.

He is a real threat to Messi and the Golden Boot. The odds of scoring a goal today are -205. I prefer teammate Ousmane Dembelé. I think there is so much attention being paid to Mbappé that Dembélé, who already has four goals in this tournament, gets less attention and looks easier. I’ll play him to get +105 points.
