World Darts Championship 2025 results: Luke Littler thanks booing crowd for ‘paying prize money’

Nathan Aspinall was the last remaining seed at the PDC World Championship but 20-year-old Charlie Manby continued his dream run by reaching the last 16.
Aspinall, who reached the semi-finals in 2019 and 2020, lost 4-3 to Dutch Kevin Doets in the final set.
The 15th seed won the first and third sets but fell behind on both occasions, only to regain control with a stunning 170 to take the fifth set.
But from there Doets took over and rattled off a sixth straight leg to claim his sixth successive win over Aspinall and a last-16 draw with world number two Luke Humphries on Tuesday.
Playing for the first time in the tournament, Manby defeated Ricky Evans 4-2.
The Huddersfield bricklayer struggled early in the doubles, missing just four of 30 tries as he fell 2-1 down in the first three sets.
However, scoring was never an issue and Evans’ accuracy in payouts, as well as loss of points, improved as he made it to the fourth round and received the minimum prize money of £60,000.
He will face Dutchman Gian van Veen in his toughest test yet in the next round, with the 10th seed boasting the tournament’s highest match average of 108.28 in his second round win.
After the game, Evans shared on Facebook that he had received death threats, as well as hate and fat jokes.
Another debutant also progressed as Somerset’s Justin Hood beat Ryan Meikle 4-1.
Meikle took a 3-0 lead before pulling the set back but Hood settled down and then said he would not have to work in 2026 after also confirming the prize money of at least £60,000.
He has already risen to provisional 63rd in the world rankings and said after the match that he still has dreams of opening a Chinese restaurant one day.
The Northern Irishman will face 11th seed Josh Rock in the last 16 after defeating Callan Rydz 4-2 in their last third round tie.
Rydz has become emotional following his grandfather’s death since his previous match.
