World Matchplay darts 2026 results: Luke Littler and Gerwyn Price reach final in Blackpool
Littler averaged over 109 in all four matches in this year’s tournament and is aiming to join Taylor and Michael van Gerwen as back-to-back winners of the Matchplay.
The run also continues its excellent form in long format matches; extends that streak to 28 consecutive wins in games of 20 games or more.
His last defeat in a match during this time was at the 2024 World Championships, where he burst onto the scene and lost to Luke Humphries in the final.
It’s an indication of the challenge Price will face in his second Matchplay final on Sunday.
The two have a bit of a rivalry, with Price’s onstage roars and antics provoking Littler into doing similar things, but the teenager denied Price could “get under his skin”.
Earlier in the week, Price said some players could “make it a lot easier” for Littler.
Despite their struggles, Littler has won the last nine meetings between the pair, with Price’s last success coming in their inaugural meeting in 2026.
The Welshman has never beaten Littler in a game of more than 15 legs, so he will need to reach new heights in the best-of-35 final.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Littler said: “Me and Gez always have great matches. Gez will want to put me in a heated fight. As long as I can get into the lead, that will be it.”
