New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said on Wednesday (April 29) that King George III will meet with King George III if they speak privately during the monarch’s visit to the city. He said he would encourage Charles to return the Koh-i-Noor diamond. India has repeatedly demanded that Britain return the 105-carat diamond presented to Queen Victoria in 1850. The diamond, which has been the focus of a long-running debate over colonial-era artifacts, was placed in the British royal crown and is on display in the Tower of London.
