Police officer pushes and drags 13-year-old boy who asked for help | News
Body camera footage from October 2025 shows a Chippenham police officer pushing and swearing at a 13-year-old boy wearing a school uniform after he asked for a ride home.
Pc Daniel Rusling, 30, of Wiltshire Police, was on duty at the time of the altercation.
Wiltshire Police said the young victim, who was part of a group of six children, called 999 for help after reporting being threatened by people in the car.
The boy was later seen on Rusling’s body camera footage approaching the officer’s vehicle as he told him, “If you stop in front of the car, I’ll move you out of the way.”
“How are you going to do this?” he replied. “Get back,” Rusling shouted before lunging at the boy.
Rusling allegedly tells the boy to “get out of his way” and “keep walking” and, holding him by the jumper, says “Keep walking” and asks, “Do you want to get yourself screwed, or do you want to go?” He was seen threatening.
The Independent Police Conduct Office said Rusling, who placed both hands on the child, did not deescalate the situation after he told her he was lost and asked for a ride home.
Rusling admitted a beating attack in May. On Tuesday, June 30, he was given an eight-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months and ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work.
