Youth Congress leaders, workers fight amongst themselves at KPCC office

A meeting organized by the Karnataka Youth Congress at the KPCC office in Bengaluru on May 18 to plan a protest against the NEET exam debacle turned into a battleground between the two groups, leading to a heated argument and scuffles that almost bordered on a fistfight. Many indicate that the Congress is planning a protest against NEET on May 21.

He was outraged by the action taken by Youth Congress workers and leaders – upset with the recent suspension of 17 people – condemning the “dictatorial” attitude of State Youth Congress president HN Manjunath Gowda. Congress sources said party leaders and workers were suspended for not attending several meetings held earlier. Among those suspended was State Youth Congress vice-president Deepika Reddy.

It was learned that the issue came to the fore when some of the suspended leaders and workers questioned the action taken against them and sought a response from the State Youth Congress officer Nigam Bhandary regarding the reason for their suspension. The group became enraged when a member of Mr. Gowda’s group intervened and asked them what to do. location stand Sources said he wanted to ask such a question. While Ms. Reddy was seeking an explanation, Mr. Gowda is learned to have told her that a separate meeting would be held to discuss the issue.

Meanwhile, a verbal altercation broke out between the two groups and the suspended leaders shouted slogans against Mr. Gowda. Workers were pushing chairs and jostling with each other, and when the situation approached a fistfight, some workers intervened, sources said.

Ms. Reddy is learned to have said that the action taken against her was not a disciplinary action but a result of political revenge and a conspiracy against women.
