Youth pitcher launches fastball at opposing dugout after alleged order from coach: ‘Absolutely bush league’

The travel baseball industry was rocked by yet another shocking incident over Memorial Day weekend in what is about to become one of the ugliest incidents on record in youth baseball.

Did the Oklahoma 11U baseball coach order his pitcher to hit an opponent? Was that kid ordered to throw a fastball into the opposing team’s dugout? Those are the accusations made by a Nebraska coach who said his bench was targeted Sunday at the USSSA tournament in Kansas City.

“All my kids learned a life lesson today. While Easton was batting against the Oklahoma Eleven, 11us coach Mychal Ryals told his pitchers to throw to Easton’s head. After Easton came out and told the umpire, the coach hit one of my players with a 70 mph fastball thrown into my dugout,” Nebraska coach Brandon Magni said on his personal Facebook account.

There is no dispute that the ball was thrown into the dugout. Whether the boy was ordered to do this is still debatable.

Magni also claims that the pitcher was ejected from the game, but was allowed to remain in the dugout and the coach was not ejected from the complex.

“MAKE USSSA BASEBALL BETTER!!!! We shook their hands at the end of the game and became better boys/men. Kids learned that you can’t control what others do to you, but you can control what your reaction might be. Ours was to use that as fire and finish the game,” added Magni.

What caused such an incident? Mother of a child from Nebraska I took it to Instagram “I never thought I’d see the team cheering for their teammates, excited to be in a tight game, and it took it to a new level in youth sports,” he said.
