Zoho’s Vembu flaunts his vibrant electric auto in viral post; shares heartwarming encounter with man behind its battery

Zoho founder and Padma Shri Award winner Sridhar Vembu showed off his humble “daily vehicle”, a Montra electric car owned by the Murugappa Group, in a viral post on Tuesday, following his heartwarming encounter with the man behind his battery at the Bengaluru airport.
Enjoying ghee masala dosa, Vembu bumped into Ankit Kherodiya, co-founder and CEO of ReVx Energy, at the Bengaluru airport.
“Small world!” The happy Zoho founder stated that his company produces battery management systems for Montra, “my daily vehicle at home.”
Vembu shared a series of photos along with his post, including a selfie with Kherodiya and a photo of the Zoho founder driving the live e-car.
“I met Ankit Kherodiya while enjoying ghee masala dosa at Bengaluru airport,” he wrote in his viral post. “Turns out his company, ReVx Energy, produces battery management systems for Montra electric cars, my daily vehicle at home. Small world!”
“Keep going Ankit and ReVx,” he added.
Kherodiya responded to Vembu’s post saying: “Very inspiring meeting! I hope to be on more vehicles in your home…”
Netizens’ reaction is as follows:
Social media users were surprised to discover that Sridhar Vembu drives for his daily commute and praised him for his environmentally conscious choices.
“Wow, I didn’t know that as the CEO of a popular tech company, you do your daily commute by autorickshaw… Your choice of electricity is even better,” one user said.
Another said: “So you have a car as well as the bike, great.”
“I love the billionaire who drives,” one user joked.
Bringing the spotlight back to Ankit Kherodiya, a netizen wrote, “Nothing beats meeting the manufacturer of a product you use every day!” he said.
Why does Sridhar Vembu use an automatic vehicle for his daily commute?
Sridhar Vembu has owned the electric car for over two years and customized it.
Previously, Montra shared that the electric car had “fast starting and nice suspension” and that he “liked it!”
In response to one of the users who questioned his choice, Zoho’s founder said he believes an electric car is an excellent and safe upgrade over a scooter or motorcycle.
“I like to think of it as the family scooter. It’s easy to navigate in tight spaces, easier to park,” he said. “One day the e-car will take off in the consumer market. I hope Montra will be successful in this market!”
Vembu also shared in the comments section that he prefers an electric three-wheeler only for short distances under 10 km and uses his Tata Nexon EV for longer distances.
